My favorite evening of glamour. Hair, Makeup, gowns and jewels...what could be better? I eagerly anticipate the Red Carpet to see who's star will shine the brightest on the biggest evening of the year. Hosted this year by Ellen, she overloaded twitter with her celebrity selfies.
An unusually rainy day in LA did not stop the stars from arriving on the Red Carpet looking fabulous. I was concerned for the hair, makeup and trains...However, in true Hollywood style...the show must go on.
Seriously beautiful in Atelier Versace, Kate was my top pick of the night. She is also my Oh La La pick with her plunging neckline. Currently trending, light hair, nude tone makeup and light or nude tone dresses, Kate hit a home run with this look. Her hair was soft and elegant complementing the head to Jimmy Choo toe fabulousness of her look.
Lovely Lupita Nyong'o in her "Nairobi Blue" Prada. Who says short hair can't rock a Red Carpet? Lupita has been turning heads on the Red Carpet all year. Her gentle spirit shines as brightly as her crystal headband. Absolutely loved her acceptance speech..."No matter where you are from, you're dreams are valid."
Oh Charlize, Charlize...Personally, I love a great black dress and THIS is a FANTASTIC black Dior Haute Couture Gown. From the oh so lovely plunging neckline to the seamless straps giving the illusion of a strapless gown down to the sheer bottom. Her sleek and modern hair coupled with just the right amount of makeup put Ms Theron on my leader list.
Because I can NEVER stop at only three...I have to include some of my other favorites...
Best Couple of the night...Matthew & Camilla. I loved Camilla's beautifully upswept hair and flawless makeup. The pastel Gabriela Cadena gown was simply gorgeous. Matthew is thankfully filling out a little more since his role in the Dallas Buyers Club looking handsome in a Dolce & Gabbana Tux.
Kristen Bell stunned in Cavalli. Her simple and sexy upstyle and understated makeup bring it all together.
Ok...so my Oscar list of love wouldn't be the same without Jennifer Lawrence. I simply loved this rocking red Dior. The classic peplum design was figure flattering. Loved her swept back hair and the fact that it stayed even after her fall on the Red Carpet was pretty spectacular :)
Best Preggers at the Oscars is presented to Olivia Wild :-)
LOVED this Black and white Valentino gown. Beautiful side parted up style and striking eye makeup make this mamma a favorite of the evening.
I know I picked my top three but...Sandra was amazing also. Although we have seen this side swept hair a few times on the Red carpet from Sandra, she was truly beautiful. She strutted the best eyes of the evening and won the most polished tresses award. The navy Alexander McQueen was perfectly sculpted for her body. She was a prize package right down to her magical navy manicure. Props to Sandra Bullock.
