The Oscars are like the Super Bowl of fashion, hair and makeup for those of us in the industry. We watch the Red Carpet as those who love football watch the pre-game show. As for me...I made it just in time to watch the show on the road. After raiding the mini fridge in my hotel room for the much needed Hershey bar, I settled in to enjoy the show.
The Grammy's inspired me to want to hang with Elton...the Oscars inspired me to want to hang out with The Avengers. Seriously, how fun would that be? I think this must be on my bucket list. Yes, I'm sure this proves I have an inner nerd but I will embrace the nerd for a social with The Avengers.
I am overflowing with love for the fashion at the Oscars. There was beauty everywhere.
Did she really just have a baby? Reese rocked her Louis Vuitton proving that new mother's have a glow. The side swept classic hair looks shiny and healthy and the blue is a nice pairing with her eyes and complexion.
The Oscars also proved that Spring is in the air. Pastels were the prominent color choices for much of Hollywood's top stars including Jennifer Lawrence. She wowed and wooed in this stunning Dior Haute Couture dress. Who cares she stumbled on her way up the stairs to accept her Oscar? Her Chopard Jewels kept on sparkling. Jennifer is my third best dressed of the evening.
Jessica Chastain is my second best dressed of the evening. This Armani Prive copper intoxication leaves me breathless. The skin, the hair, the make up, the gown...perfection! I absoultely love this look.
I bet you guessed my number one pick would be Anne. Could it be that the two things that make my heart skip a beat are Tiffany & Co diamonds and Prada...packaged together with great hair and make up? It's simple elegance at its best. The back of this gown sends it over the top.
For those of you who know me well...know that I simply adore plunging necklines. (Especially if not a lot hangs out) This is definitely for the the skinny girl...the one the boys made fun of in junior high for the "itty bitty club". Well...I say...eat your heart out boys! This is my Oh La La for the evening! Samantha Barks gave a stellar performance in Les Miserables and worked this Valentino! Sometimes, a little black dress will do.
Most Interesting gown of the night is awarded to Naomi Watts. At 44 years old, she looks half her age in this Armani Prive.
My main men of the night include Jamie Foxx who took his beautiful daughter as his date for the evening. I love his pairing of gray and black. Its different and delightful.
How adorable is Joseph Gordon-Levitt? I love it when young Hollywood represents! I wonder if he has Barber's Classic in his hair???
I, of course had other picks that stood out but the blog would become a novel so I have to cut it at some point. However...I do have one final mention. I would like to congratulate the Oscar awarded to Hair and Makeup. Congratulations Lisa Westcott and Julie Dartnell! My favorite movie of the season!
